Another in a new series of paintings created on pieced together canvas. There are always off-cuts when cutting a new canvas and, rather than discarding these cuts, they have been used to create new canvasses, pieced together. Not only does this cancel waste, it provides a linear quality and shadow that would otherwise not be present - similar to the Japanese art of Kintsugi. The paintings do not follow the lines, on the contrary, the painting is created without taking these joins into consideration; the result cannot be foreseen and the colour, shadow and line provide added depth to the composition.
